Centura Students Getting Down to Business
By Zoey Aldridge
As FBLA week is February 13-19, 2022 at Centura Public Schools, FBLA members Zoey Aldridge and Faith McDonald met with the Cairo Chairman of the Board, Gordy Sorensen, to sign the FBLA Week Proclamation.
The FBLA Week Proclamation was designed for Sorensen to declare the week of February 13-19, 2022 as FBLA week for the Centura community. The document went over topics such as the importance of FBLA functions, the dedication of the members, and the integral role this organization provides to students.
FBLA week will consist of many fun activities for the 66 FBLA members. On Monday, February 14th, the FBLA members will host an FBLA appreciation day. Then on Tuesday, the students are encouraged to wear a throwback t-shirt. On Wednesday, there will be a special teacher appreciation breakfast along with an FBLA breakfast meeting. To end the week on Thursday, all the members will wear their FBLA t-shirts.
Throughout the week, the Centura FBLA officers will be sharing their FBLA story on the Centura FBLA’s Twitter and Instagram pages. The students sharing their story are President Faith McDonald, Vice President Kendal Knuth, Historian Sydney Davis, Secretary Will Ford, Parliamentarian Easton Brand, Treasurer Jayden Jacobsen, Reporter Alexys Hurt, and Fundraising Coordinator Haley Hellwege. The officers will all be sharing how they started in FBLA and/or how it’s benefited them over their high school career, and/or a special memory from FBLA.
In 2021, Centura had the 2nd largest FBLA organization within Class-C. At Centura, FBLA is one of the most heavily-populated extracurricular activities. The organization presents students with endless opportunities, and it’s a great part of Centura Public Schools.
