Valentine’s Day Cookie Sales In Full Swing

FBLA’s annual Valentine’s Day cookie sales are in full swing. These are Eileen’s Cookies and come at a cost of $4. Orders need turned into the school by Thursday, February 7th and will be delivered at the end of the student workday on Wednesday, February 13th. If you’d like to place an order you can contact your favorite Centura FBLA Member, or print the attached document and turn your order into the office, or contact Mrs. Loeffelholz at sloeffel@centuraps.org. Howard County Spelling Bee

Eight students in grades 5th-8th grade competed at the Howard County Spelling Bee hosted by St. Libory. Each participant had to spell 50 words in the written round and those that received 80% or higher, or were in the top 3 of their grade would get to compete in the oral spelling round. Bladen Garcia received 3rd place overall in the oral spelling round and Ivan Baldwin was the top overall 5th grade speller. Congratulations to all of the students that competed!

Academic Excellence

Students at Centura Elementary and Centura High School were recognized for their achievement in academic excellence. 215 students met at least one of the achievement criteria. The criteria consisted of being in the top 25% on the MAP reading, math, or science tests, excelling on the state NSCAS test, and for juniors achieved an ACT composite of a 23 or higher. Of the 215 students recognized, 54 of them met every single assessment criteria. Great job Centurions!!!
