Centura Volleyball Action

volleyballThe Centura volleyball team is 6-5 on the season after capturing 2nd place at the Gibbon Invite last Saturday.  Emily Krolikowski is leading the team with 114 kills and 7 ace serves, 3 solo blocks, 56 assists and 101 digs.  Makenna Lemburg and Kaleigh Johnson are leading the team in ace serves with 16 each on the year.  Amber Baldwin leads the team with set assists at 121, and leads the team in serving percentage with 98% efficiency.  Centura travels to Broken Bow on Thursday (note the change of schools) for a triangular with Gibbon. Then they will take on Superior in the first round of the Adams Central Tournament on Saturday.

Kaleb Johnson is the Grand Island Independent Athlete of the Week!

Kaleb Johnson was name the Grand Island Independent Athlete of the Week for his outstanding performance against Bayard on September 9th. Kaleb had 230 yards http://www.eta-i.org/cialis.html rushing, 4 touchdowns and 11 tackles. Way to go Kaleb!!!! Follow the link to see Kaleb’s video.

Staff Members of the Week

Congratulations to Mrs. Heather Evans and Mrs. Julie Otero for being the Centura District staff members of the week.

Mrs. Evans is always willing to work with and help teachers. She is faithful in her work with students. Mrs. Evans doe her best to make sure staff and students are treated fairly. Mrs. Evans is a great problem solver. Most of all Mrs. Evans is a caring staff member.

CCV suffers loss to Ord

The CCV Diamonds record moved to 6-8 after a loss to Ord Thursday night. Ord got on top in the bottom of the 3rd with a grand slam by M. Alexander to make the score 4-0. CCV fought back with scoring two runs in the top of the 4th. Ord scored their final run in the bottom of the 4th. CCV continued to battle scoring one in the 6th making it 5-3. In the bottom of the 6th, CCV did not allow any runs as center fielder Brylee Barr threw out the Ord runner with a long throw home to catcher Ragan Young. Molly NItsch ended the inning with a fly ball catch in right field. Although they continued to work hard with a positive outlook, CCV was unable to score in the 7th. LP-Shelby Behnk. Highlights: Reilly Young – 2 RBI’s, Shelby Behnk – triple and scored 2 of the 3 runs, Molly Nitsch – 1 hit and 1 RBI.

Centura Volleyball Dig Pink Night

Centura Volleyball will have their Dig Pink night on Tuesday, October 4th during our St. Cecilia match.  If you are interested in purchasing a t-shirt for this event, here is the link:

Centura Dance Team hosting Mini Dance Camp

The Centura Dance Team will be hosting a Mini Dance Camp for students in grades Kindergarten through 6th grade.   Check-in will begin at 2:45pm on Sunday, September 18th in the High School Gym.

Participants will learn a dance routine that they will perform at the Varsity Football game on Friday, September 23rd during halftime.

The camp fee is $20 per participant and includes a t-shirt, camp photo, craft activity and snack.

You can turn registration and payment into the Elementary Office or bring it to the camp on Sunday when your dancer checks in.

All proceeds from the mini camp will help pay for dance team uniform and competition costs.
