PTO DodgeBall Night

The PTO is hosting a Dodgeball Night for all preschool through 6th grade students. Come for family fun and enjoy dodgeball in a glow-in-the-dark gym, hosted by our Centura Volleyball Team!!! The event will start at 6:00 p.m. and go until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, February 24th.  Please send the RSVP to school by Feb. 20th if you are planning to attend. Pizza and other snacks will be available for purchase.

Howard County Spelling Bee Participants

On February 3rd eight Centura students ranging from 5th to 8th grade participated in the Howard County spelling bee in St. Paul. Students that participated were, 5th: Trevin Trumler, Shanni Arndt, 6th: Marty Baldwin, Bladen Garcia, 7th: Jaden Graczyk, Jayden Jacobsen, 8th: Lauryn Bernt, Katelyn Fanta. They were tested for their written and oral spelling ability. Of the eight http://www.buyambienmed.com/buy-ambien/ participants seven of them made it to the oral spelling round by being either the top 3 in their grade level or scoring above 80% on the written test. Five Points Bank Welcomes Centura Students

On Wednesday, February 8, 2017, Grand Island’s Five Points Bank helped Centura students make connections between the classes they are enrolled in and the world of business finance. “It was cool to learn how advancements in technology have changed the way banks do business,” commented Rachel Baustert, a Junior at Centura. Kim Wells, Loan Operations Specialist-Systems at Five Points, along with her colleagues, took the students through the basics of assisting customers with their financial needs while keeping them safe from fraud.FivePoints

Centura Business Students Visit Carry’s Pet Salon

Centura students learned about entrepreneurship from Carry Baustert on Wednesday, February 8, 2017. Baustert explained how she started Carry’s Pet Salon, and the skills needed to grow her business. Sophomore Navi Nielson stated, “She made it interested and tied real life experiences to what she does everyday. Brody, a Golden Doodle customer, was cute and fun to get to know.”Carry's

Nomination for Nebraska Hall of Fame

CapitolRecently, Centura history teacher Beth. Gross accompanied two of her student, Nick Kortz and Trey Schultz, to Lincoln. The boys presented before a board of commissioners to nominate sculptor Solon Borglum for inclusion in the Nebraska Hall of Fame. This journey was the culmination of an eighth-grade history project the boys started last year. Congratulations on a job well done, gentlemen!

Louplatte Conference Basketball Tournament

basketballThe Louplatte Conference basketball tournament for boys and girls will be held next week. Centura girls will host Gibbon in a  first round game on Monday, January  30, 2017 at 7:00 PM.
