Grand Island Community Foundation awards a grant to Centura

Thank you to the Grand Island Community Foundation for awarding Centura with grant funding. The goal for the grant is described below:

The goal of Career and Technical Education (CTE) is to promote learning in the CTE field and more importantly, teach students skills that are directly applicable to careers. This initiative will provide a much-needed boost to the metals program at Centura School. The completion of this project will give students a renovated and updated area to properly and safely learn and develop skills in welding. The current welding shop is over fifty years-old and lacks space. The shop is not adaptable for larger projects that would improve the learning opportunities for Centura students. A repurposed space will provide a safe learning environment able to satisfy the creativity of the Centura students.  The project will repurpose space to enhance Career and Technical Education opportunities. The funds will be used to obtain welders and safety aprons and gloves for the students.

Thanks for the opportunity and grant.
