CHS FBLA Partners with Pathway Bank

Each year Centura FBLA partners with a business to enhance student learning and assist with various needs. FBLA has partnered again with Pathway Bank to teach the elementary and high school students more about banking and saving money. On Monday, January 21, 2018, presentations were given to high school students by Pathway Bank.

Taylor Grabowski and Callie Gorecki each introduced Abby Hargens from Pathway Bank. Abby Hargens talked to the high school students about credit scores and what students can do to help maintain a good credit score. Earlier this year, Ms. Hargens was also able to give lessons to elementary students on short-term and long-term savings goals. She then provided information to the students on how they could create a savings account with Pathway Bank. For those students that created a savings account, we offered a “teller station” at the school multiple times throughout the year so that elementary students could deposit their money.

Last year, our Partnership with Business team was able to earn 8thplace at the State Leadership Conference in Omaha. This April our team hopes to present our project again at the State Leadership Conference. Our team hopes that our project has helped to educate students on saving money and that we can continue teaching students various aspects of banking.

If anyone has questions or concerns about the savings project, they can contact Mrs. Loeffelholz at sloeffel@centuraps.org. ~Callie Gorecki
