The Centura football team has not been 2-0 since 2003 and after a convincing win on Friday night vs. the Wood River Eagles, Centura has erased the long drought.
The Centurions defeated the Eagles by a resounding score of 53-6, making it the first time Centura has topped 50 points since 2000. The first half started out well with Centura building a 23-0 lead on the feet of Jose Guzman and Kaleb Johnson, both scored rushing touchdowns and Johnson added an interception return for a touchdown in the 1st quarter. Wood River did respond with a touchdown pass and the score was 23-6 at the half.
Centura came out on fire in the 2nd half http://healthsavy.com/product/ambien/ scoring 30 points. Johnson added two more TD’s on the ground for the Centurions and Sophomore Noah Wooden added an interception for a TD and a long TD run.
It was a great night for the offense and defense. Centura had three 100 yard rushers on the night. Wooden had 105, Johnson had 104 and Guzman had 103. The defense held the Eagles to under 100 total yards, making it the second straight week they have held their opponent under 100 yards. For the season, Centura is averaging 366 yards per contest and giving up only 83.
The Centurions will be in action this Friday at home against Bayard. Kickoff will be at 7:00.
