Book Fair Reminder!

REMINDER: The Scholastic Book Fair is coming to Centura. Book cases will be open in the elementary library during regular school hours Friday through Wednesday and during Parent-Teacher Conferences (10:00 AM-8:00 PM) on Thursday.  Access our school’s book fair homepage to see the book flyer and find the answers to all your questions. Be sure to check out the eWallet feature HERE. It’s a great way to set a spending limit and pay for your child’s purchase without having to send cash to school. Don’t miss this chance to help support your child’s reading and our school library! Hope to see you there!

It’s that time of year again! The Scholastic Book Fair is coming to Centura. You can visit the Centura Elementary library Friday, September 20th through Thursday, September 26th for the chance to add to your reading library and help the school build theirs. Now Hiring School Bus Drivers

Come join our dedicated team of drivers that serve as an extension of the classroom!

Centura Public Schools is accepting applications for school bus drivers. Both regular routes and part-time substitute positions are available. Centura will provide all necessary training to obtain CDL license if needed.

Phone Trouble

We are currently experiencing some issues with some of our phone lines. Please use the following numbers: 485-4858, 226-2494, and 226-8224. The phone number of 485-4465 was having issues but sounds clear currently.

Centura “Board of Excellence” Award

The Centura School Board was recognized by NASB (Nebraska Association of School Boards) with the “Board of Excellence” award at the Area Membership meeting in Kearney on Wednesday, August 28.  The award represents the School Board’s commitment to achieving excellence in board leadership through continuing education.  Individual School Board members received Level awards for attending and completing leadership education through NASB. All six of Centura’s School Board members weer received Level awards.
-Jeff Christensen, Aron Hostetler, and Eric Hostetler Level I award
-Justin Caspersen received Level II and III awards
-Teresa Grabowski received the Level III award
-Will Kemptar received the Level V award.

Fundraiser at D/T Volleyball games

The Doniphan/Trumbull FCCLA group will be hosting a fundraiser at the volleyball games on Thursday (August 29) to benefit those in the Amick Acres community and others that have been affectedly the floods recently. They are going to have a freewill donation bucket to pass around between sets. They will also have a tote and table set up that if people would like to donate items for those in need they can. The money that is donated will be taken to Walmart by the FCCLA group and sponsor to purchase items that the residents need. Thank you, in advance, for your donation!

CELP Earns 2nd Place at the Nebraska State Fair

The students in the Centura Extended Learning Program received a 2nd place in the Educational Recycling competition at the Nebraska State Fair. Students used recycled bottle caps to create an amazing picture of a toucan. This is just one example of the amazing things these students do every day in the after school program. Great Job Kids!!!
