Centura/Central Valley Softball Update

The Centura/Central Valley Diamonds are now 9 and 9 on the season.

This Saturday the Diamonds host Plattsmouth (8-12) in a double header at North Loup at 10:00 a.m. and noon.  Next Tuesday the CCV junior varsity will travel to Grand Island for a doubleheader at 5:00 and 7:00 p.m.  The Diamonds will be at Wood River for the Conference Tournament on Thursday, September 28th. Opponents and times to be announced.

Scottsbluff 8, CCV 3

In the final game of the day Saturday in North Platte the Diamonds were defeated by Scottsbluff 8 to 3.

CCV had 8 hits. Kilee http://www.montauk-monster.com/pharmacy Ackles had 3 singles, with Jasmine Miller having 2 singles   Reilly Young had a home run, while Brylee Barr and Allyson Dugan each had singles.  Pitching stats were not available.

Lexington 7, CCV 6

In the second game Saturday in North Platte, Lexington edged CCV 7 to 6.  CCV had 8 hits. Morgan Semm had 4 hits, two home runs and two singles. Ragan Wood had a double and a single. Allyson Dugan and Jasmine Miller each had one single.   No pitching stats available.

Gering 15, CCV 3

In the first game Saturday at North Platte, the Diamonds were defeated by Gering 15 o 3.

CCV had 5 hits. Kilee Ackles had two singles. Jasmine Miller had a double, while Ragan Wood and Allyson Dugan had singles.  Kilee Ackles pitched 3 inning allowing 15 hits, 6 earned runs, while walking 3 and striking out 3.

 

CCV 15, Ord 5

Last Thursday night in North Loup, the CCV Diamonds recorded their 9th win of the season as they defeated Ord 15 to 6 in four innings.

CCV had 13 hits. Emma Myers and Kilee Ackles each had a double and a single, while Shelby Budde and Jasmine each had two singles.  Morgan Semm had a triple, while Brylee Barr, Ragan Wood, Allyson Dugan and Reilly Young each had a single.  Kilee Ackles pitched 4 inning allowing 5 hits, 3 earned runs. While striking out 2 and walking 5.

Ord Win JV Game

Ord won the junior varsity game against Ord Thursday night at North Loup 11 to 3 that was called because of the time limit after 3 innings.  CCV had 3 hits, one each by Sydney Perez, Molly Nitsch and McCall Selden.  Molly Nitsch and Anastasia Ostrander did the pitching for CCV.

Lady Diamonds Go 1-2

The Centura/Central Valley Diamonds went 1-2 this past week. Their record is now 8 and 6 on the season. They play Ord at North Loup on Thursday. The varsity game that will be on KNLV FM (103.9) at 6:00 p.m.

On Saturday the Diamonds are at a tournament in North Platte.

O’Neill 6, CCV 3

Last Thursday the Lady Diamonds traveled to O’Neill and suffered a 6 to 3 loss at the hands of the O’Neill Eagles.

CCV had 6 hits. Morgan Semm had a double and a home run. Kilee Ackles and Ragan Wood each had a double, while Ally Dugan and Reilly Young each had singles.

Kilee Ackles did the pitching for CCV. Throwing 6 innings, allowing 7 hits, striking out 3, while walking 4.

CCV Defeats Wilber-Claytonia 6 to 1

Last Tuesday the CCV Diamonds traveled to Utica where they defeated Wilber Claytonia 6 to 0 in 6 innings.

CCV had 10 hits. Morgan Semm had a home run and a single. Ragan Wood had two doubles, while Kilee Ackles had a double and a single. Reilly Young had two singles. Having one single each included Allyson Dugan and Jasmine Miller.

Kilee Ackles pitched 6 innings, allowing 5 hits, striking out 6 and walking 3.

In the first game at Utica Tuesday afternoon, top ten ranked Centennial outscored CCV 15 to 7.

Lady Diamonds Get 3 Wins Last Week

Lady Diamonds went 3 and 0 last week to improve their record to 7 and 4 on the season.

 

CCV 9, Lexington 6

The Lady Diamonds defeated Lexington Saturday at Lexington.

CCV had 13 hits. Morgan Semm had 4 hits, including a home run. Reilly Young had a home run and a single, while Allyson Dugan and Kilee Ackles also had 2 hits. Having one hit each included Ragan Wood, Jasmine Miller and Emma Myers.

Kilee Ackles pitched the entire 7 innings allowing 5 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 1.

At St Paul Thursday night the CCV Lady Diamonds picked up a 12 to 3 win over St Paul.

CCV had 13 hits. Morgan Semm had 2 hits, including a home run. Ragan Wood, Shelby Budde and Brylee Barr each had two singles. Having one single each included Allyson Dugan, Kilee Ackles, Reilly Young, Emma Myers and Jasmine Miller.

CCV Participates in West Point Softball Tournament

CCV Places 7th at West Point Softball Tourney

After a two hour plus rain delay action got underway at the 8 team tournament at West Point last Saturday.

Wahoo Bishop Neumann (6-1) defeated David City Aquinas Catholic 5 to 2 in the championship game.

Kilee Ackles threw a three inning no hitter as Centura/Central Valley defeated South Sioux City 12 to 0 and claim 7th place. Kilee Ackles struck out 3, while walking only one.

CCV had 10 hits. Morgan Semm had 3 hits, including a double. Ragan Wood had two doubles, while Emma Myers had two singles. Kilee Ackles had a triple, Jasmine Miller a double and Reilly Young a single.

Ponca defeated CCV 5 to 3 in the second game of the tournament for both teams.

David City Aquinas Catholic defeated     CCV 9 to 7 in the first game of the tournament for both teams.

CCV had 8 hits, all were singles. Jasmine Miller had two singles, while Morgan Semm, Ragan Wood, Allyson Dugan, Kilee Ackles, Emma Myers and Brylee Barr each had one single.

Last Tuesday the Centura/ Central Valley Lady Diamonds defeated Madison/Humphrey/ Lindsay Holy Family 15 to 2.

CCV had 10 hits. Kilee Ackles had three hits, a single, a double and a triple. Morgan Semm had three singles. Having a single each included Sidney Perez, Ragan Wood, Jasmine Miller and McCall Selden.

CCV Softball Opening Season

Lady Diamonds Win Season Opener 11-2

The Centura/Central Valley Lady Diamonds won their season opener 11 to 2 at Minden Thursday evening. The game was called after the fifth inning because of the 8 run rule.

The Lady Diamonds pounded out 13 hits. Kilee Ackles had three hits (1 triple). Having two hits each included Morgan Semm (1 triple), Ally Dugan and Emma Myers. Having one hit each included Sidney Perez, Ragan Wood (a triple), Reilly Young and Jasmine Miller.

Defensibly CCV played well with infielders making several nice plays and catcher Ragan Wood throwing out two would be Minden base stealers, with shortstop Morgan Semm doing a nice job of catching the ball and applying the tag

JV Team Wins 18 to 8

The CCV junior varsity team scored 4 runs in the top of the first inning and added 13 runs in the fourth inning as they posted a 17 to 8 win in a game called after 4 innings because of the 1 hour 15 minute time limit.

Minden scored all of their runs in the bottom of the third inning to take an 8 to 4 lead.

CCV had 12 hits. Molly Nitch had three hits (2 doubles) and Caitlin States also had three hits (one double). Having two hits included Sam Sokol and McCall Selden. Reilly Young had a double and Courtney Mullins had a single.

Molly Nitch and Anastasia Ostrander did the pitching for CCV.

Lady Diamonds 4th at Wayne Tournament

The Centura/Central Valley Lady Diamonds placed fourth at the Wayne Tournament.

Wayne defeated Highway 91 10 to 0 to win the championship, Twin River defeated CCV 10 to 5 for third place, while Ord edged Pierce 11 to 9 for fifth place.

Twin River won the third place game 10 to 5 over CCV at the Wayne Tournament Saturday.

CCV had nine hits in this game. Ragan Wood, Ally Dugan and Kilee Ackles each had two hits. Having one hit each included Brylee Barr, Morgan Semm and Shelby Budde.

Kilee Ackles did the pitching for CCV allowing 5 hits, while walking 3 and striking out 1.

The CCV Lady Diamonds defeated Ord 9 to 7 in their second game at the Wayne Tournament Saturday.

Morgan Semm pitched 6 innings allowing 6 hits, striking out 3 and walking only 2. Kilee Ackles pitched the 7th inning allowing 2 hits, striking out one and walking one.

Class “B” Wayne defeated CCV 8 to 0 in the first game of the Wayne Tournament Saturday.

Wayne pitcher Tori Kniesche pitched a no hitter, while striking out 11 and walking one.

Kilee Ackles did the pitching for CCV allowing 6 hits and walking 4 Wayne batters.

CCV Softball Season End at District

The Centura/Central Valley Softball team saw their initial season end last Thursday in Cozad at the C-6 District Softball Tournament. The Lady Diamonds finished their first season with a 6-15 record, with most games against much larger schools.

Lose 15-12 to Southern Valley/Alma

In what turned out to be the last game of the season for Centura/ Central Valley, the Lady Diamonds lost a slugfest to Southern Valley/Alma 15 to 12.

CCV scored one run in the first inning as Ragan Wood singled and scored on a double by Shelby Behnk.

CCV added 2 runs in the second inning as Shelby Budde singled, Molly Nitsch reached base on an error. Before Jasmine Miller tripled, Shelby Budde scored while Molly Nitsch was caught attempting to steal. Miller scored on a single by Allyson Dugan.

CCV scored 3 runs in each of their three last at bats.

In the fifth Ragan Wood reached base on an error, Kilee Ackles singled, Shelby Behnk was hit by a pitch. Two runs scored on a double by Reilly Young. Shelby Behnk then stole home.

In the sixth inning Allyson Dugan doubled, Kilee Ackles reached base on an error, scoring Dugan. Shelby Behnk and Shelby Budde each singled as Ackles scored and Behnk eventually scored on an error.

The Lady Diamonds made the final score 15 to 12 by adding 3 runs in the bottom of the seventh as Molly Nitsch singled, Jasmine Miller singled, Ragan Wood reached base as Nitsch was forced out at third, then Kilee Ackles and Shelby Behnk each singled.

Kailee Ackles pitched the entire game for CCV.

The Lady Diamonds had 15 hits. Shelby Behnk had 3 hits including a double and 4 rbi’s. Kilee Ackles had 3 singles. Jasmine Miller had a single and a triple. Allyson Dugan had a single and a double. Shelby Budde had 2 singles. Reilly Young had a double, while Ragan Wood and Brylee Barr each had one single.

Southern Valley/Alma went on to win two more games, before losing to district champion Cozad in the championship game.

In the first game of the C-6 District Tournament at Cozad Thursday the Lady Diamonds were defeated 12 to 2 by Chase County in a game called after 4 inning because of the 10 run rule.

The Lady Diamonds scored their 2 runs in the second inning as Shelby Budde walked and Molly Nitsch reached base on an error and eventually scored.

Shelby Behnk pitched the entire game for CCV.

CCV had 4 hits, all singles, one each by Allyson Dugan, Ragan Wood, Kilee Ackles and Shelby Behnk.

CCV District Play

th-1The Centura Central Valley Diamonds traveled to Cozad for District play on Thursday, October 6. They played Chase County at noon, losing 2-12 in four innings of play. Shelby Budde and Molly Nitsch were the two runs scored. At 6:00, CCV played Southern Valley/Alma. After a hard fought battle, CCV ended their season with a second loss at districts with a score of 12-15. Budde had 2 singles and Jasmine Miller had a single and a triple during the seven innings of play. CCV finished their season with 6 wins and 15 losses.

Last Thursday at Cairo Grand Island Central Catholic defeated the Centura/Central Valley Diamond 16 to 1 as the pounded out 14 hits.

The Lady Diamonds had five hits. Ragan Wood had two singles, Allyson Dugan a double, while Kilee Ackles and Shelby Behnk each had a single.

CCV Softball Update

Lady Diamond Softball

The Centura/Central Valley Lady Diamonds (6-11) played three games in the eight team North Platte Softball Classic against three larger schools last Saturday.

Although CCV had a long drive home with three losses from the day, the coaches were proud of the way the girls performed. Their hitting was much better than it had been the past few games. We just need to concentrate on cutting down our fielding errors and just continue working on our mental toughness.

Scottsbluff 12, CCV 4

In their first game of the day CCV was defeated by Scottsbluff (11-8) 12 to 4.

CCV took an early 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning as Kilee Ackles and Allyson Dugan each singled. Ackles scored on a ground out by Ragan Wood and Dugan scored on a single by Shelby Behnk.

CCV tied the game at 3-3 in the top of the third inning on an over the fence home run by Shelby Behnk.

The bottom of the third inning was disastrous when Scottsbluff scored 8 runs as CCV could not catch a break.

CCV had 6 hits. Kilee Ackles and Shelby Behnk each had two hits, while Allyson Dugan and Molly Nitsch each had one hit.

Chadron 14, CCV 5

In their second game of the day Saturday CCV was defeated by Chadron (7-12) 14 to 5.

CCV took a 4-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning as Allyson Dugan doubled, Kilee Ackles and Shelby Behnk each singled. A ground out by Reilly Young scored a run, and Ragan Wood tripled and then scored on a passes ball. Brylee Barr also had a triple in the inning.

CCV got their other run in the third inning as Reilly Young doubled, advanced to third on a ground out by Ragan Wood and scored on a ground out by Brylee Barr.

CCV had ten hits in this game. Two each by Allyson Dugan, Kilee Ackles and Shelby Behnk, with Reilly Young, Ragan Wood, Brylee Barr and Molly Nitsch.

Lexington 4, CCV 1

The final game of the day saw Lexington (7-10) pick up their second win of the season over CCV 4 to 1 on Saturday. (The first game the score was 10-4).

CCV got their lone run in the bottom of the fifth inning as Shelby Budde singled, took second on a sacrifice bunt by Molly Nitsch, with Allyson Dugan and Samantha Sokol following with singles.

CCV had five hits, all singles. Allyson Dugan had 2, while Samantha Sokkol, Kilee Ackles and Shelby Budde each had 1.

Shelby Behnk pitched the entire 5 innings, allowing 6 hits, walking 2 and striking out 3.
