Louplatte Conference Basketball Tournament

basketballThe Louplatte Conference basketball tournament for boys and girls will be held next week. Centura girls will host Gibbon in a  first round game on Monday, January  30, 2017 at 7:00 PM. CCV Softball Season End at District

The Centura/Central Valley Softball team saw their initial season end last Thursday in Cozad at the C-6 District Softball Tournament. The Lady Diamonds finished their first season with a 6-15 record, with most games against much larger schools.

Lose 15-12 to Southern Valley/Alma

In what turned out to be the last game of the season for Centura/ Central Valley, the Lady Diamonds lost a slugfest to Southern Valley/Alma 15 to 12.

CCV scored one run in the first inning as Ragan Wood singled and scored on a double by Shelby Behnk.

CCV added 2 runs in the second inning as Shelby Budde singled, Molly Nitsch reached base on an error. Before Jasmine Miller tripled, Shelby Budde scored while Molly Nitsch was caught attempting to steal. Miller scored on a single by Allyson Dugan.

CCV scored 3 runs in each of their three last at bats.

In the fifth Ragan Wood reached base on an error, Kilee Ackles singled, Shelby Behnk was hit by a pitch. Two runs scored on a double by Reilly Young. Shelby Behnk then stole home.

In the sixth inning Allyson Dugan doubled, Kilee Ackles reached base on an error, scoring Dugan. Shelby Behnk and Shelby Budde each singled as Ackles scored and Behnk eventually scored on an error.

The Lady Diamonds made the final score 15 to 12 by adding 3 runs in the bottom of the seventh as Molly Nitsch singled, Jasmine Miller singled, Ragan Wood reached base as Nitsch was forced out at third, then Kilee Ackles and Shelby Behnk each singled.

Kailee Ackles pitched the entire game for CCV.

The Lady Diamonds had 15 hits. Shelby Behnk had 3 hits including a double and 4 rbi’s. Kilee Ackles had 3 singles. Jasmine Miller had a single and a triple. Allyson Dugan had a single and a double. Shelby Budde had 2 singles. Reilly Young had a double, while Ragan Wood and Brylee Barr each had one single.

Southern Valley/Alma went on to win two more games, before losing to district champion Cozad in the championship game.

Chase Co. 12, CCV 2

In the first game of the C-6 District Tournament at Cozad Thursday the Lady Diamonds were defeated 12 to 2 by Chase County in a game called after 4 inning because of the 10 run rule.

The Lady Diamonds scored their 2 runs in the second inning as Shelby Budde walked and Molly Nitsch reached base on an error and eventually scored.

Shelby Behnk pitched the entire game for CCV.

CCV had 4 hits, all singles, one each by Allyson Dugan, Ragan Wood, Kilee Ackles and Shelby Behnk.

CCV District Play

th-1The Centura Central Valley Diamonds traveled to Cozad for District play on Thursday, October 6. They played Chase County at noon, losing 2-12 in four innings of play. Shelby Budde and Molly Nitsch were the two runs scored. At 6:00, CCV played Southern Valley/Alma. After a hard fought battle, CCV ended their season with a second loss at districts with a score of 12-15. Budde had 2 singles and Jasmine Miller had a single and a triple during the seven innings of play. CCV finished their season with 6 wins and 15 losses.
