Download (PDF, 632KB)

On Tuesday, February 5, four Centura students participated in the Hall County Spelling Bee hosted by Wood River Public Schools. James Maul (5th grade), Rainna Sierks (6th grade), Finley Korinek (7th grade) and Alaina Suntych (8th grade) were among 60 spelling champions that began their day with five written rounds of fifteen words each. At the end of the 5 rounds, James Maul earned 2nd in the 5th grade division and Alaina Suntych earned 3rd in the 8th grade division. All four students met the 80% standard and moved on to the oral round. Thirty plus participants entered the oral round and all four Centurions spelled their first round words correctly and moved on to the second round. The words in the second round and all four were eliminated in that round. Centura is very proud of these four students and their spelling skills!
