On Monday, September 18, at 7:00 PM in the Centura Elementary library, Mrs. Hargens and Mrs. Evans will be presenting a workshop for parents and students in grades three through seven called “Training the Brain to Study.” They will share information on how the brain http://pharmacy-no-rx.net/propecia_generic.html works as well as tips to help students create better study habits. The Centura Volleyball team will be playing their annual “Dig Pink” game on September 28th against Minden. You can join the fight against cancer by purchasing a “Ready for the Fight” t-shirt. Order forms will be coming home with all elementary students and are available in both the elementary and high school offices. Orders are due back to the office by 4:00 PM on Friday, September 15th.

The fall sports season is here! That means it’s time to stock up on the latest Centura volleyball apparel. Please print, complete, and return to school the order form below. Centura had 11 students qualify for the State Track Meet at Burke Stadium in Omaha last weekend, with Willy Packer coming home with a 5th place medal in the pole vault. Also competing in the pole vault were Brooklyn Hostetler, Noah Bruggeman, and Noah Wooden. Samantha Simdorn and Tanner Rosenquist competed in the 300 m hurdles and Reed http://pharmacy-no-rx.net/accutane_generic.html Trumler in the 110 m high hurdles. Dawson Caspersen was the lone multi-event qualifier competing in the triple jump, 400m run, and the 4×100 m relay. Other members of the relay were Jaden Myers, James Price, and Kaleb Johnson. This relay team barely missed medaling by placing 9th. Congratulations to each of these athletes for representing Centura.

Recently, Centura history teacher Beth. Gross accompanied two of her student, Nick Kortz and Trey Schultz, to Lincoln. The boys presented before a board of commissioners to nominate sculptor Solon Borglum for inclusion in the Nebraska Hall of Fame. This journey was the culmination of an eighth-grade history project the boys started last year. Congratulations on a job well done, gentlemen!

The Louplatte Conference basketball tournament for boys and girls will be held next week. Centura girls will host Gibbon in a first round game on Monday, January 30, 2017 at 7:00 PM. Mark your calendars for January 24th! Centura 4th, 5th, and 6th graders will be performing their “Bounce to the Beat” during the half time of both boys and girls varsity games. Your student will be bringing home more details as we get closer to the date. The Centura FFA BBQ is also taking place that evening, so there will be lots of fun events happening.
