Centura Wrestlers Compete at Ord Invite

This week the wrestlers wrestled in a very tough tournament in Ord. The team finished seventh out of 16 teams and placed six people in the top six. “We took a couple tough losses throughout the day, but overall we saw some really good things as a coaching staff, ” reported Coach Carlson.  He also stated, “We are starting to see some of our younger wrestlers getting tougher and wrestling smarter on the mat.”

2nd Place – Austin Simmons

On Saturday, the team held their youth club tournament, and the coach was really proud really proud of the high school wrestling team. Not only was there perfect attendance, and the wrestlers showed up and worked at the tournament, but they handled themselves as good young men and really did a nice job of running the tables.

This week the wrestlers have a full week of practice trying to fine-tune things and they will compete in  a very tough G.I.C.C. wrestling tournament on Saturday.

Wrestler of the Week goes to Austin Simmons. Austin continues to get better and is continuing to learn. Even though Centura took a loss in the finals at Ord, he truly left everything on the mat. He will eventually win those matches in the next three weeks!
