Centura Girls Basketball starting to Click with 2-wins Last Week.

Thursday night the Lady Centurions hosted the 10-4 Lady Grand Island Central Catholic Crusaders on their home court.

Centurion head coach Jeff Thober reported, “This was a really good win for us. Our offense was consistent as we scored double digits in each quarter. Defensively we were able to force GICC into a lot of turnovers,  and if we would have checked off and rebounded better,  we would have built up a nice lead.   Down the stretch we hit our free throws which sealed the deal for us. I was very proud of how we competed!”

Centura Vs. Gibbon

C-1 Gibbon came to Centura on Friday night sporting a 9-7 record.   After the game, Coach Thober stated, “We did just enough to get the win. In the first half we missed a lot of lay ups and bunnies where we could have gotten a nice lead. Defensively we had some troubles moving our feet as we gave up too many easy shots. We did battle and compete,  it just wasn’t very pretty. Give credit to Gibbon as they competed hard as well.”  Fortunately the lady Centurions came out with a win as they prepare for a tough week facing St. Paul, Fullerton, and Ravenna the week before the LouPlatte Conference Basketball Tournament.  The girls have won their last four games and are sitting 9-5 on the season.
