Character Council Exceeds Food Drive Goal!

The Centura Elementary Character Council held a food drive for our local food pantry during the month of December.  The goal was to bring 750 items and the kids would be treated to popcorn and a movie.  The kids and families stepped up in a very big way!

Top bragging rights go to the 6th graders with 227.
2nd place goes to 5th grade with 186.
4th grade rounds off the top three with 158.
Followed closely by 1st grade with 152.
Next is 3rd grade with 141.
Then we have Kindergarten with 105.
We wrap things up with 2nd grade with 90 and Preschool with 37.
For a whopping grand total of…… 1,096 food items!!!

The members of Character Council delivered and shelved all the food items to the Howard County Food Bank on Wednesday, December 20th.

Thank you to everyone for your hard work in meeting and exceeding our school goal and for helping out many of our neighbors who need our help.
