Freshman Standout Athlete Commits to Colorado State University for Softball

Freshman softball standout Morgan Semm visited three college softball programs in the fall with the intent to make a decision of where she would like to continue her education and play softball at the Division I level.   Because of Morgan’s involvement in the Nebraska Gold Softball team, she was encouraged to begin looking at college softball opportunities as soon as possible.

In October, Morgan and her Dad traveled to Fort Collins, Colorado where Morgan attended a Preview Weekend for softball players at Colorado State University.  While she liked the atmosphere at CSU, she still took trips to South Dakota State in Brookings, South Dakota as well as Wichita State University in Wichita, Kansas.  While she liked both of those campuses she felt that what CSU offered educationally was the biggest draw to her final decision of where she wanted to attend college.  Morgan and her family traveled back to Fort Collins where CSU finalized an offer to her.  They met with the coaches and toured the athletic facility and at this point, Morgan was certain of what she wanted, and gave a verbal commitment to CSU.

Morgan shared that she will keep in contact with CSU over the next three years and will attend a softball camp there at least one time per year.  She indicated that multi-sport athletes such as herself are in demand for college athletics.  In college, she will look forward to specializing in one sport at that time, but plans to enjoy basketball and track seasons in high school.
