Leadership is Key to take Centurion Wrestlers to the Next Level

Behind an experienced roster sprinkled with some transfers, Centura High coach Dan Carlson believes his team has the potential to find plenty of success on the mats this winter.  “After a season like last year where we lost some of our best wrestlers to injury, I think this year the biggest key is finding leadership,” Carlson said.  “Even though our roster will have a lot of wrestlers on it, we are looking for leaders to take us to the next level.”

The Centurions lone returning state qualifier is junior Austin Simmons, who is expected to fill the 220-pound spot.  Coach Carlson also listed the following letter winners as having potential to wrestle at the varsity level:  Nate Deterding, Nolan Johnson, Tyler Spotanski, Dustin Charron, Lucas Coronado, Tyler Gates, Casey Kuszak, Nate Ruhl, James Adams, Micheal Anderson, Kile Bentley, Judson Bonsack, and Mekki Melgoza.

For District action, the wrestlers will head to North Bend Central.  The Centurions will open the season at Ravenna on December 1st.
