Junior high finished up it’s first week of competition. Seventh and eighth greaders wrestled at St. Paul on Monday night and then on Thursday they wrestled at Adam Central. Coach Evans exclaimed that he saw a lot of improvement from Monday’s first competition to Thursday’s second competition. Coach Carlson said, “It’s a rough sport; but I think our kids are starting to get the feel of it and starting to compete and be tough on the mat.” Junior High Wrestler of the week goes to Will Ford. Will got a much-needed victory at Adam Central and really has shown to be a competitor.
High school wrestlers finished up their first week of practice. Coach Carlson reported, “The intensity is up so far this year with the kids working hard, and I think they’re excited to see what this year brings. I must stress that attendance is crucial to see any success long-term. We will fix some of these issues as we move forward”. This week’s wrestler of the week goes to Mekhi Melgoza. Mekhi has been working really hard this week and pushing himself. He has a long ways to go to reach our goals, but if he keeps his worth ethic going he will be a good wrestler this year.
This week high school wrestling practice after school on Monday and Tuesday, and then Wednesday morning at 9 am with weight assessments after practice, and then Friday morning at 8 AM.
