End of Regular Season Volleyball Play and Preparation for Sub Districts

Centura wrapped up their regular season with a win at home against Sandy Creek. Centura took a 3 set sweep of the Cougars on parent and senior night. Brooklyn Hostetler led the way on the offensive side of the game with 16 kills, 7 points and 22 positive serve receptions. Amber Baldwin was able to rack up 37 set assists, 1 ace serve and 4 points. Emily Krolikowski had 10 kills, and 4 solo blocks,  Macy Baldwin had 5 kills, and 2 ace serves, Elayna Holcomb had 10 kills and 2 blocks along with 4 points and Grace McDonald had 7 kills. Sam Simdorn had 16 digs, Madison Harston had 14 digs and Emily Krolikowski had 13 digs to lead the back row defensively.

Coach Feeney said, “I was not expecting a 3 set sweep from Sandy Creek. This was a very competitive and long match for us last year, and they returned an equal amount of talent this year. When we were able to get on some nice runs during set 1, I could feel the shift of our team into a relaxed and confident team. We really did mix the ball up nicely tonight, and that was to our benefit, because I didn’t feel that Sandy Creek could establish a collective block around that many hitters. ”

Centura will travel to GICC on Monday night for our first round of Sub Districts and play the winner of the Hastings St. Cecilia game and Sutton at 7:30. If we advance onto the second night, Centura would have a 7pm match and play either Sandy Creek or Doniphan.
