The Lady Centurions traveled to Loup City on Tuesday for a triangular with Doniphan-Trumbull. The team walked away 2-0 on the night as they took a 2 set sweep from both teams.
This was the third time meeting against Doniphan-Trumbull for this season, and Coach Feeney has seen 3 different styles of play each and every time. “I was very pleased with how we adjusted to their hitters on the middle for the night. I think that they had some nice blocks against us, that we needed to adjust our hitting window and our hitters were able to respond.” All players stepped up in a certain way in both sets. We had 50 digs on the night from the whole team combined. Leading the way was Brooklyn Hostetler with 16 digs and Sam Simdorn with 10 digs. Elayna Holcomb lead behind the serving line with 8 points and also added 6 kills on the match. Amber Baldwin tallied up 29 set assists. Emily Krolilkowski had 4 solo blocks, 9 kills and 7 digs on the match.
The second set of the night was against Arcadia-Loup City. Centura got on some slower runs but ended up winning both sets 25-21 and 25-23. Arcadia- Loup City has traditionally always played us very tough, so a tough match is what we expected. Once again we where challenged by some pretty tall players against ALC, but were able to make some good hitting adjustments and also defensive adjustments to their players to pull out the win.
After this match some pretty impressive season stats have compiled for the Lady Centurions, giving Emily Krolikowski 302 kills on the season, 45 solo blocks, 153 points and 295 digs. Brooklyn Hostetler has racked up 239 kills, 267 digs and 289 positive receptions. Amber Baldwin is pacing the assist record column with 797 on the season and 32 ace serves. Sam Simdorn and Madison Harston have a combined effort of 290 and 149 digs in the back row. Macy Baldwin has 26 aces, 185 points 114 kills. Elayna Holcomb has 134 points, 143 kills, and 30 solo blocks on the season. Grace McDonald has 112 kills and 36 assist blocks on the year.
