On April 21, 2017, four of the five Centura Help Desk Students traveled to Nebraska’s Education Technology Association (NETA) Conference held in Omaha. Jayden Schuneman, Kaleb Schuster, Tyler Hardenbrook, and Michael Anderson presented on the elective class they are currently enrolled in, the Help Desk.
The students explained the class expectations, their personal responsibilities within the class, and what they have gained from being a part of the Help Desk. “They fielded questions from the audience and painted a clear picture for those attending the conference,” stated classroom teacher, Stacie Loeffelholz. Schuster was amazed at the interest from the audience regarding what is accomplished in Centura’s Help Desk on a regular basis. A conference attendee Tweeted, “What a great opportunity for students to get hands on tech experience!”
Also on Friday, Centura’s Technology Team gave a presentation called, “1 to 1, 11 Years Later.” John Hadenfeldt fronted the presentation, which gave audience members a chance to hear the evolution of technology at Centura since going to one-to-one laptop instruction with students, back in 2005.
