Centura Elementary is once again participating in the “One School One Book” project during the month of March. Every family will receive a copy of “James and the Giant Peach” by. Roald Dahl. Families will be assigned parts of the book to read each night throughout March. The goal is to promote literacy outside of the school setting and to show the importance of being able to read and enjoy a good story.
Every morning there will be trivia questions about the chapters that were read the previous night. Every student from each classroom will have a chance to win a prize. Students will also focus on writing poetry during March and their poetry will be on display for their parents. The PTO is hosting a movie night featuring “James and the Giant Peach” on April 7th.
We look forward to having a great time with this project and promoting literacy.
